Student Account Instructions (Logging into Gmail, temporary and resetting password, MyKing, Classlink)

King School uses Google Workspace. 
Please use Google Chrome on a computer to follow the steps below.


Read each instruction carefully, as they contain important information. 
Be sure to follow the steps in order:

1. Logging into the Chrome profile and Gmail with a temporary password.

2. Password reset (highly recommended)

3. MyKing

4. Classlink
5. Upper School Students only —uniFLOW Extension


  


Logging into King School Chrome Profile and Gmail with a temporary password


  1. If you do not have Google Chrome on your device, please install it from https://www.google.com/chrome/.

  2. Open Google Chrome and log in to a new Chrome Profile. 
    The bullet points below will explain how to log into your King School profile, whether you’re installing Chrome for the first time (A) or using an existing Chrome installation (B). 
    1. If you are installing Google Chrome for the first time...
      The initial page, when you launch Chrome, has a Sign-In link. Click Sign In to create a new Chrome profile.
    2. If you already have Google Chrome...
      You can add a new profile by clicking on the existing profile icon in the top right corner, next to the three vertical dots. Then, at the bottom of the window pane that appears, there will be an Add Chrome Profile option.

  3. Enter the student's King School email address and password.
    1. For the username, enter the email address: firstname.lastname@students.kingschoolct.org
    2. For the password, you should've received the format of the temporary password. 
  4. After entering the King School email address and password, you will see a prompt like the one below. Please click Continue. We will only be able to manage the settings within the King School Chrome profile — we will not have access to your device.

  5. On the next prompt, you must click Yes, I’m in for the correct configurations and extensions to be installed in the Chrome profile. 

  6. Go to www.gmail.com. If everything was configured correctly, it should automatically sign you into the student's Gmail. Please proceed to the password reset. 




Password Reset


To complete the password reset steps below, make sure at least one device is already logged into the student’s King School Gmail account. This can be the same device you’re using to reset the password.

If a parent or guardian is assisting with this process, please ensure the student is aware of the new password and can log in independently.

Note that this password is the same password that you will use to log into your school's Google Workspace account (Gmail/Classroom), Classlink, Chromebooks, Microsoft 365, and DiLL.


  1. Click here and click Forgot your password?



  2. Fill out the username, CAPTCHA code, and then click Continue.
    1. The name "William Test" will be used in all of the examples below.
    2. Students - ONLY enter your "firstname.lastname" (william.test) as the username
      If you encounter an error at this step or if you are unable to proceed further, please contact IT support at help@kingschoolct.org.



  3. From the drop-down menu, select your full King School email address. Fill out the CAPTCHA and then click Continue.



  4. Access the device that is still logged into the school's Gmail account (please read the IMPORTANT NOTE above). You should've received an email from help@kingschoolct.org with the subject "Password Reset Confirmation".



  5. Copy the provided code from the email, return to the website, and enter the code. Complete the CAPTCHA and click Continue.



  6. Please create a new password, type in the password again in the confirmation box, fill out the CAPTCHA, and click Reset Password. Please see below for the password requirements/restrictions.
    • You can NOT use your first or last name in the password.
    • Have at least 1 capital letter and 1 number
      1 symbol is recommended but not required.
    • The password must be at least 8 characters long.



  7. You're all set once you see the image below. If you encounter an error, please review the password requirements listed in step 5.



  8. Any device and Chrome profile previously logged into the school's Google account will now be logged out. Please log back into the profile and account using the newly created password. If you encounter any issues while attempting to follow these steps, please email us at help@kingschoolct.org to request further assistance.



MyKing Instructions

Click here for MyKing. MyKing is your portal for your classes, schedule, assignments, and resources. 


To log in:

  1. Enter your full email address (firstname.lastname@students.kingschoolct.org) in the email address field and then click Next.

  2. Click Sign in with Google

  3. If prompted, enter your school email address and your new school password (temporary password if you choose not to reset it).




Classlink Instructions

  1. If you still do not have Google Chrome on your device, please install it from https://www.google.com/chrome/
    King School uses Google Workspace, and the Chrome browser ensures that all the portals configured on Classlink can be accessed properly.

    Please refer to the first set of instructions at the top of this page if you need assistance installing Google Chrome and creating a new Chrome profile.


  2. After you created a new Chrome profile under the student's King School Google account, go to Classlink using the following link: https://launchpad.classlink.com/ksct

    1. IMPORTANT

      Please remember the following information:

      Make sure to use the link provided above. To access King School's Classlink portal, you need to open it using the correct Launchpad. Here's a rule of thumb: if you don't see the King School logo on the ClassLink sign-in page and you see a Code (optional) text field, you are NOT on the correct webpage.



  3. The format for each student’s username and password to log in to Classlink is as follows:

    Username: firstname.lastname (william.test
    DO NOT enter the domain @students.kingschoolct.org. 

    Password: Password used to log into your King School Gmail account




Upper School Students Only

Configure uniFLOW Online Extension

UniFLOW Online is a Chrome extension pre-installed on every Upper School student's Chrome profile. All US students are required to configure the extension in order to print.
