How to Share Content to Zoom on the PolyCon

Created by Joshua Lee, Modified on Wed, May 14 at 10:40 AM by Joshua Lee

If the PolyStudio Conference is the host of the Zoom Meeting, please follow the steps below.

  1. Make sure that participants are allowed to share their screen - the host will need to enable this setting in Security.

  2. If your device is not in the Zoom meeting, you have three options. You can see instructions for all the options by clicking Share Content on the controller.
    1. Grab the HDMI cable from the middle console and plug it into your device. Once it successfully connects, your screen will automatically be shared with the Zoom Meeting. Note that this will share your whole desktop - you will not be able to select specific windows or tabs in your browser. Disconnect the HDMI cable whenever you are done.

    2. Connect via AirPlay. Note that your device must be connected to KingPrivate for AirPlay to function properly. On your device control center menu, select Screen Mirroring. Find Simon House Conference Room and select it. The AirPlay code will display on the TV. Enter the code and your entire screen will be shared in the Zoom meeting.

    3. Open up a web browser like Chrome and go to share.zoom.us. Type in the Meeting ID that is displayed on the touch screen when you click on Share Content on the PolyCon controller. Click Share Screen in the browser when ready.

      • It will load up another page with a dialog. Click Open zoom.us.

      • The Zoom app will open on your device. If needed, admit the user from the PolyCon controller (Participants -> Admit).

      • Select the proper window, tab, or desktop that you would like to share. Click Share at the bottom right corner when ready.
      • When you are done sharing, click Stop Share.

      • If your device is already in the Zoom meeting, share your screen as you normally would.
