Accessing the Learning Site

Creating an Assignment

  • Go to your class in Learning Site and locate the assignment you want to assign to your students.

  • Note that assignment have a stopwatch icon. For any activity with a different icon, follow the “Sharing Activities” instructions below. 
  • Select which student you want to assign the assignment to, select a due date, then click “Assign Now”.

  • The assignment will appear in Google Classroom.


Sharing Activities

  • Non-assignments will have icons that are not stopwatches. 
  • Go to your class in Learning Site and locate the activity you want to assign to your students.


  • Click share, the click “Create Post”. Choose which class will be viewing the activity, then click “Create Assignment”. Click “Go” to post the activity.

Preparing the Assignment/Activity





Student Instructions

The student will navigate to the post containing the activity/assignment.

  • First, they will click on the link that you added to the instructions. This will log them into the learning site and take them to the landing page for their class. They may get a prompt asking to allow Edlink to have access to their Google account. Click “Allow”.

  • The student will leave this tab open, go back to Google Classroom in the previous tab, and click on the assignment/activity link in the box. This will take them directly to the assignment/activity.


  • If a student is accessing multiple assignments/activities in a single session, they can leave that tab from the first link open and just click the second link. However, if it’s easier for students to have just one set of instructions, they can just repeat these steps for every assignment/activity.
